Kuwait Banking Association organizes its annual Ramadan Ghabga in cooperation with Kuwait Banking Club.

Kuwait Banking Association, in cooperation with the Kuwait Banking Club, organized its annual Ramadan Ghabga on Tuesday, March 13, 2025, at the Four Seasons Hotel. The event was attended by a large number of banking sector leaders. The Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait, the Chairman and members of the Association’s Board of Directors, the Chairmen of the Boards of Directors of Kuwaiti banks, and a large number of executive leaders from local banks and the heads and members of the Association’s specialized committees participated in the event.

In this context, the Secretary-General of the Kuwait Banking Association, Prof. Yaqoub Al-Rifaei, emphasized that the Association is keen to organize events that enhance communication among local banks. He pointed out that the Ramadan Ghabga has become an important annual event that brings together banking sector leaders in a friendly atmosphere that contributes to strengthening relations and enhancing cooperation between member banks. Al-Rifaei added that such events are not just a social tradition, but also represent an opportunity to exchange ideas and visions among banking leaders, supporting the integration of joint efforts to address current challenges and promote sustainable growth in the Kuwaiti banking sector. He also highlighted the Association’s commitment to continuing its efforts to support the banking work environment by fostering a culture of cooperation and teamwork among various banks.

He also emphasized the importance of these social events in strengthening relationships among banking sector employees, explaining that fostering a spirit of cooperation contributes to improving the work environment and promoting the achievement of shared goals.

Sheikh Ahmad Duaij Jaber Al Sabah is the Chairman of Commercial Bank of Kuwait since April 1st 2018, after holding the position of Vice Chairman from 4/4/2015 to 31/3/2018 and Board Member from 29/4/2012 to 3/4/2015 In his capacity as Chairman of Commercial Bank of Kuwait , Sheikh Ahmed Duaij Al Sabah has been nominated as Chairman of Kuwait Banking Association . He is also a Board member in Kuwait Institute of Banking Studies. Furthermore, Sheikh Ahmed held the position of Board member in Kuwait Clearing Company representing Commercial Bank of Kuwait from 2018 until 2019. And the Chairman of Al Tijari Financial Brokerage Company from 2014 until 2020. During his tenure with Al Tijari Investment Company (CBK Capital) from 2010 to 2012 Sheikh Ahmed was Project Finance Manager , and Acting Portfolio Manager and Manager Private Equity, prior to that and specifically from 2005 to 2010 he worked with Commercial Bank of Kuwait in the Shareholders Service Unit. Sheikh Ahmed started his career after graduation with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation in the capacity of Corporate Planner. Sheikh Ahmed Duaij Jaber Al Sabah graduated with Master of Business Administration from Maastricht School of Management in March 2008 after obtaining his Bachelor degree in Science with a major in Finance from Bentley College – United States of America in May 2000 .
