His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait, Mr. Basil Ahmad Al-Haroun, honored last Thursday, corresponding to February 16, 2023, distinguished Kuwaiti banks in supporting the banking awareness campaign “Let us be aware”, which was launched in 2021 at the initiative of the Central Bank of Kuwait in cooperation with the Association of Banks of Kuwait, with the aim of raising awareness on a number of topics. The mission is in the field of financial culture and the protection of bank customers. Kuwait Finance House, National Bank of Kuwait and Al-Ahli Bank of Kuwait were honored as the most distinguished banks in supporting the campaign in its second year by providing all its capabilities in communicating with customers through its electronic channels and accounts on social media platforms, and through By organizing activities that contributed to providing content suitable for all customer segments, publishing campaign materials and topics related to financial and banking culture and awareness against fraud on a wide scale to raise awareness among the public. The honoring was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Banking Association, Sheikh Ahmed Duaij Al-Sabah, and the Secretary-General, Dr. Hamad Al-Hassawi, in the presence of Mr. Abdul Wahab Issa Al-Rashoud – Acting Group CEO and Head of Treasury and Financial Institutions of the Group, Kuwait Finance House, and Mr. Essam Al-Saqer – Vice Chairman and President CEO of the National Bank of Kuwait Group and Mr. George Richani, CEO of Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait Group.
For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Kuwait Banks and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Commercial Bank of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmed Duaij Al-Sabah, said that the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign is the culmination of the fruitful and continuous cooperation between the Central Bank of Kuwait, the Federation of Kuwait Banks and Kuwaiti banks, in order to enhance financial and banking awareness, and educate customers The banking sector and society as a whole in the financial and banking aspects with the aim of protecting them from the risks of financial and other fraud, noting in this regard that the campaign, in its third year, has contributed and is still contributing to spreading financial and banking knowledge among the audience of customers and provides them with advice and warning messages, all of which contribute to educating them banking and financially in order to achieve financial inclusion. Economic stability and protection for customers from risks and fraud that they may be exposed to.
Al-Sabah thanked His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait, Mr. Basil Ahmad Al-Haroun, and expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Central Bank of Kuwait and its continuous support to banks, which culminated in honoring distinguished banks in supporting the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign. He also thanked all Kuwaiti banks for their support. For the awareness campaign by providing all the necessary capabilities to communicate with customers, publishing educational materials for the campaign on all available means, and organizing awareness activities and events to protect banking information for all different segments of customers.
Al-Sabah concluded by stressing that the Union and the banks are strategic partners and main supporters of the awareness campaign within the framework of the important role that banks play as part of their social responsibility, in a way that enhances support for the financial and banking culture in society and creates sustainable economic and social value.

Dr. Hamad Al-Hassawi explained that the federation was keen to be a major partner and supporter of the Let’s Be Known campaign, which came as an initiative of the Central Bank of Kuwait, with the aim of shedding light and spreading financial and banking awareness. The context of the campaign is considered an essential element within the overall strategy of the Union and the banks for social responsibility, especially those that focus on educating customers about their rights and educating them about financial transactions, banking services and products, and the importance of maintaining the security of their personal and banking data. There is no doubt that the positive impact came with the concerted efforts of all the banks and yielded positive results that benefited all segments of society. He thanked all Kuwaiti banks for their efforts in supporting the campaign, especially the first three banks, which are Kuwait Finance House, National Bank of Kuwait and Al-Ahli Bank of Kuwait, because of their clear efforts of great impact. The Vice Chairman and CEO of the National Bank of Kuwait Group, Mr. Issam Al-Sager, thanked the Central Bank of Kuwait for this honor, which represents an appreciation for the bank’s role in the active contribution to the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign.
Al-Sager praised the leadership of the Central Bank and its unlimited support for this prominent initiative, which was launched 3 years ago under its auspices and with the participation of all Kuwaiti banks. Today, it has achieved remarkable successes in raising the level of financial awareness and spreading banking awareness among all segments of society.

Sheikh Ahmad Duaij Jaber Al Sabah is the Chairman of Commercial Bank of Kuwait since April 1st 2018, after holding the position of Vice Chairman from 4/4/2015 to 31/3/2018 and Board Member from 29/4/2012 to 3/4/2015 In his capacity as Chairman of Commercial Bank of Kuwait , Sheikh Ahmed Duaij Al Sabah has been nominated as Chairman of Kuwait Banking Association .
