As a culmination of the Central Bank of Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to enhance financial and banking awareness, the national banking awareness campaign “Let’s Be Aware” won the Excellence in Cyber Awareness Award during the second edition of the “Cyber First – Kuwait Edition” conference, held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Hotel.
The conference was organized by the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Center. This conference is a prominent event that highlights the “New Kuwait Vision 2035” and showcases the transformational journey towards a secure digital future for the State of Kuwait.
This honor came in recognition of the campaign’s success in instilling financial literacy among members of society and enhancing awareness of the risks of financial fraud by providing comprehensive awareness content that focuses on ways to protect banking information and avoid falling victim to fraud. It’s worth noting that the “Let’s Be Aware” banking awareness campaign was launched under the direction of the Central Bank of Kuwait, in cooperation with the Kuwait Banking Association and Kuwaiti banks.
It aims to enhance community awareness of financial and banking transactions, ensure access to banking services to all segments of society, spread awareness of customer rights to ensure optimal and safe use of banking services, and educate the public about electronic financial fraud. The campaign targets various segments and groups of society, paying special attention to people with special needs.
It’s worth noting that the campaign website, Dirayakw.com, has made it easier for individuals to access reliable information and advice in the financial and banking field. Mr. Abdullah Al-Shaheen, Public Relations Director at the National Cybersecurity Center, honored Ms. Sheikha Al-Essa, Deputy Secretary-General of the Kuwait Banking Association, as a representative of the campaign, in appreciation of the campaign’s efforts and prominent role in promoting financial and banking literacy among members of society.
Commenting on this honor, Al-Essa said: “This achievement represents the fruit of fruitful cooperation between the Central Bank of Kuwait, Kuwaiti banks, and the Union. It also reflects the banking sector’s unwavering commitment to spreading financial literacy, enhancing financial inclusion, and building a safe and sustainable banking environment that serves all segments of society.”
