Deputy Secretary-General of the Kuwait Banking Association Sheikha Al-Essa stated that the Association is a major supporter and partner in the 5th Gulf Cybersecurity Challenges Conference and Exhibition, which will be held during the period 5-6 November 2024 under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Fahad Yousef Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior.
Al-Essa explained that the conference will discuss the latest digital security technologies and will address a number of important topics, including raising awareness among leaders and employees of government and private institutions and individuals about ways to protect information security, cyber challenges and risks and ways to confront them, cyber security governance and data privacy, cyber security technologies and the use of artificial intelligence in early warning of crises, information security and cyber systems in the banking and financial sector, and other important topics that the conference will address with the participation of a group of local and international experts and speakers.
Al-Essa also pointed out the participation of banking sector leaders in the conference sessions, where the Secretary-General of the Association, Prof. Yaqoub Al-Sayed Yousef Al-Rifaei, will participate, speaking about the efforts of the banking sector to enhance cybersecurity and raise awareness and education about fraud risks, in addition to the participation of a number of banking sector leaders in a discussion session to shed light on the efforts of the banking sector in preserving customer data and protecting it from cyber-attacks. The discussion session will be attended by Ali Al-Kazemi, Chief Information Security Officer at Burgan Bank, Nasser Al-Qadiri, Executive Director of Cybersecurity and Information Security Risks at Kuwait Finance House , Sheikha Al-Safi, Head of the Anti-Fraud Committee at the Association, Senior Manager of Anti-Fraud at the Commercial Bank of Kuwait, Mohammed Al-Halil, Head of the Infrastructure Support Unit at the National Bank of Kuwait, and Ahmed Al-Zamami, Senior Manager of Anti-Fraud at Kuwait Finance House. Ali Al-Mutawa, Senior Information Security Manager at Boubyan Bank.
Al-Essa pointed out the Associations’ keenness to participate in organizing this conference within the framework of its keenness and interest in discussing such important topics that represent one of the major challenges in the contemporary world, especially in light of the development witnessed by the banking industry locally and globally.
